Typical systems include two stages. The first stage is necessary for degassing and/or primary devolatization of feed, this may be a Thin Film Evaporator or molecular distills, or a baffled flashing chamber. Devolatilized material is then transferred to the second stage for further separation.

Introduction

Thin film and short path evaporators can be combined to multi-stage systems. In order to have a smooth and simple operation of multistage systems, it is recommended to equip such systems with continuous feed and discharge pumps. In multistage systems complex product mixtures can be separated in the individual fractions with the desired quality.

Typical systems include two stages. The first stage is necessary for  degassing and/or primary devolatization of feed, this may be a Thin Film Evaporator or molecular distills, or a  baffled flashing chamber. Devolatilized material is then transferred to the second stage for further separation.The whole two stage wiped film molecular distills including short path evaporator(SPE), feeding system, heating system, cooling system, collection system and vacuum system, the flow chart as follows:
