Introduction
Designed for purification, fractionation, and solvent recovery. In some cases, the separation efficiency of a single stage thin film distillation unit is not sufficient. Thin film evaporators can be designed as a reboiler, combined with a rectification column with several separation stages (theoretical plates) , which is used to high requirements of seperation. Rectification involves a process in which steam and liquid are brought into contact in counter current flow. By applying specially structured packings, an appropriately large surface is generated and at the same time the low pressure required for vacuum distillation is limited. Lab to large scale production is available for HXCHEM.
