Reflux Distillation, Condenser, Receiver Of Lab Autoclave

Introduction

HXCHEM can provide different type condensers to provide reasonable solutions for lab to pilot high pressure and vacuum reactions, including internal cooling and external condensening.

Internal coolings

The material selection of cooling coil is the same as that of reactor. All cooling coils are detachable, and there are corresponding inlet and outlet nozzles on the bushing. In most cases, if cooling is not needed, these opening can be converted into standby inlet/outlet.

Coolings type includes:Single coils; Serpentine coils; Spiral coils

Single coils: These are normally installed on small reactors where there is minimum space available.

Serpentine coils:These coils provide reasonable surface area, minimum interference with stirring patterns, a reasonable amount of baffling, and ease of cleaning and maintenance.

Spiral coils:They do maximize the cooling area available, but sometimes at the expense of uniform stirring and ease of cleaning.

Size:φ6*1 ; φ8*1

External reflux condenser

HUIXIN offers two styles of condensers for attachment to the head of a stirred reactor or pressure vessel. These can be made in various sizes to match the size of the reactor.

Reflux Condenser

The reflux condenser consists of a length of tubing connected directly to the head of a vessel and equipped with a water cooling jacket. Condensed vapors are returned directly to the vessel and any non-condensable gases can be released through a needle valve at the top of the condenser. It is a jacketed single tube SS-316 heat exchanger with packing material inside used to reflux the condensate back into the reactor & vent off the uncondensed vapours. It is connected directly on the autoclave lid & works under full autoclave pressure. A receiver pot can be connected at the bottom of the reflux condenser with valve for reflux collection.

Reflux/Take-Off Condensers

The reflux/take-off condenser consists of a water jacketed tube, the same as described above, assembled with a receiving vessel attached to the lower end of the condenser. Any vapor, such as water from a polymerization reaction, can be condensed and collected in the receiver, from which it can be withdrawn through a bottom valve. Any non-condensable gases can be released through a needle valve at the top of the condenser. If condensate collection is not required, the receiver can be removed and the condenser can be mounted directly above the reactor for direct reflux into the vessel.

Receiver

Stainless steel receiver pot can be connected at the outlet of the shell & tube or reflux condensor to collect the condensate separately. It is also provided with a port to apply vacuum & offered in 250 ml, 500 ml, 1 ltr, 2 ltr & 5 ltr volumes. Higher volumes & other materials can be offered onspecial request. It can be optionally provided with level indication.

Tubular heat exchanger

Tubular heat exchanger is suitable for lab to pilot test high pressure autoclave; It is a stainless steel shell & tube reverse flow heat exchanger for distillation/condensing vent vapours from the autoclave. It is offered in different surface areas such as 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1, 2 & 3 m2. The condensate can be collected separately in a receiver or optionally refluxed back into the reactor.

Features: Higher pressures upto 300 bar; Different materials available; Corrugated tubes heat exchangers for better efficiency / compact size
